Who we are

Yoked is a Christian dating service for adults (18+) in the UK. For this policy, Yoked is the data controller. Contact us at the email address shown on our Contact details (to be confirmed before launch).

What we collect

Account: email address and sign-in details.

Profile: name, age, town, denomination, church and involvement, relationship intentions, favourite verse, your story and any voice notes you choose to add.

Activity: messages, likes and saves, prayer wall posts, coffee meetup RSVPs and check-ins, game answers, referrals and reports.

Special category data

Your religious beliefs are "special category" data under UK GDPR. We process them only with your explicit consent, given when you create your profile, because matching on shared faith is the core of our service. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your profile.

How we use it

To run your account, show your profile to other members according to your privacy settings, suggest matches and faith compatibility, deliver messages, keep the community safe (including reviewing reports), and improve the service. We never sell your data.

Who can see what

Signed-out visitors only see limited, blurred previews. Members see what your privacy settings allow. Anonymous prayer requests hide your name from members, but our moderators can see who posted for safety reasons. Coffee meetups let you show your first name or appear only as a number.

Storage & security

Data is stored with our hosting providers using encryption in transit and access controls. Voice notes are stored privately and only conversation participants can play them.

How long we keep it

While your account is open. When you delete your account we remove your profile and content within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records (for example, safety reports) for legal reasons.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We use only essential storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your preferences.
